A LITTLE HELP!!!

Gen 50:20.....'you intended to harm me but God intended it for good...'

Everyone has experienced some form of betrayal, injustice, backstabbing, false allegations and the works. Such behavior can be found among children, teenagers, and adults of all ages. It is something that has been and unfortunately always will be.

There are many reasons why humans engage in such negative behavior: some do it to make them self feel better about them self, some out of jealousy and some out of spite and malicious intent to harm you...the list goes on...

It hurts the most when such negative actions and words come from family and friends because they are the ones you thought had your back no matter what.

What do you do when it happens or years after it has happened? How do you deal with the pain, the hurt, the anger, the frustration or the feeling of vengance?
How do you accept that they (whoever they may be in your own case) really meant to harm you and weren't acting out of ignorance? How do you move past the pain??

YOU LET IT GO!!!
Yep, simply 'LET IT GO'!!!

They helped you: believe it or not their actions gave you a little push in the direction of becoming great, becoming successful and becoming a better you.

How many times has a statement like 'you can't do it' motivated you into action? How many times has such statement pushed you to venture into a particular area just to prove them wrong only to find yourself succeeding there beyond your imagination and enjoying the journey?

Those people are destiny helpers!!! So what if their help didn't come in the usual or conventional way we expect or are accustomed to:

The bottom line is that their word or action spurred you into an action or serveral actions which is now beneficial to you. For that reason alone you ought to tell them THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME!!!

Get a Vision for your life, Write it down and run towards it. Make decisions that take you closer to that Vision and not further away. Everything may not happen the exact way you want it to but that's OK, keep going because if you stick with it the vision will eventually become a reality!!!
Be Persistent, Confident; Believe in yourself and your vision even when no one else does.
Look beyond what you see currently and know that your present does not determine your future, your Vision does!!!
Happy Weekend!!!

Gratitude!!!

Life is progression and if you stick around long enough you will see each stage you have been through manifest itself agian in the life of another person.

A child is grateful to God for toys, friends, parents, clothes, sweets, chocolate and requests granted :-)

A teenager is grateful to God for friends, cool hang out spots, cinema, video games and for the money their parents give them.

An adult is grateful to God for finishing secondary school and university, for a good job or good business prospects, a good relationship, a good network, financial stability, marriage, birth, kids, parents etc.

A Grandparent is grateful to God for being alive, for passing through all the above stages and getting to see those stages repeat itself in the life of their kids, grandkids and great grandkids...

Blessings are not counted in the abundance of material blessings alone but in the faithfulness of God on a day to day basis, week to week basis, month to month basis and year to year basis.

What are you grateful to God for??? And when was the last time you listed them out?

LAGOS : PERCEPTION

Love is not the first thing that comes to mind when one hears the name Lagos. The name is usually associated with busyness, people always on the go, a city that never sleeps, a commercial hub and the most popular city in Nigeria, Some even refer to it as the New York of Nigeria.

From the early rise of its inhabitants to avoid the morning traffic that usually has no root cause to the incessant noise pollution that comes from both vehicles and humans. It's either the bus conductor is arguing with passengers about the fact that he doesn't have small denominations of the naira note thus people with higher denominations should not enter the bus or its the preacher at the back of the bus preaching at the top of his voice. I mean forget the fact that little me just wants some peace and quiet because despite living in Lagos for 5 years now, i still believe that it is just plain wrong for anyone to hit the road anything before 6am.

However like some situations in life i have no choice, Lagos is where i am and it is where i live. So rather than become grumpy and frustrated at the way of Life in the city, i have chosen to see all the schenanigans of the city as Comic Relief...

Having been priviledged to have lived, schooled and visited various cities worldwide, I can confidently say that no matter what city of the world you live in, each has its pros and cons.

It all boils down to perception i.e. the way you choose to look at the situation.

I have come to love Lagos not because it's a perfect city but simply because at this point and stage in my life this is where i am, this is where i live, this is what i do...

So while I'm still jumping buses, leaving for work at 5am or listening to preachers in the bus i have decided to enjoy every single bit of it...so yea, Lagos with all its hustle is the city i have grown to love. I have grown from despising everything about it to finding comic relief in everything i see daily.

Sometimes life doesn't give us the luxury of making our desired choices; so if you can't change the situation in your life the key is to change your perception. a healthy perception will not leave leave you feeling drained, grumpy or frustrated, it will leave you feeling hopeful, excited and happy...

I have made my choice! what's yours?
